Species: Sea Snail
Like mussels, sea snails have an open circulatory system which means that no blood vessels are involved. The tissues are directly inundated with blood.
Snails have a two chambered heart. Because of the open circulatory system of mollusks, there is no clear difference between the blood and the interstitial fluid (interstitial means the gap or space in an organism). As a result, the circulatory fluid is commonly referred to as haemolymph, rather than blood.
