Sea Anemone (Aulactinia Vancouverensis)
This type of sea anemone is mostly located near Vancouver Island and British Columbia. It can be found stuck to small rocks or bedrock. Tentacle amount in sea anemones can vary from ten to about a few hundreds. The sea anemone could have evolved from a planula organism.
Circulation in this sea anemone is achieved through the gastrovascular cavity. This opening acts both as a mouth and an excretory outlet. This helps circulate water and other vital nutrients to the rest of the organism. Cnidarians can also use diffusion to transport materials into or out of the gastrovascular cavity. Furthermore, the cells on the sea anemone absorbs nutrients directly from the water that it is in contact with.
